- Dont forget to stay in shape. If you are swimming at the Y now, thats
awesome!
- If you are not either swimming or playing a Spring sport, continue to
run, stretch, and do ab and strength work on your own.
- Plan to swim summer league if you can: CCC, JCC, the Y, or somewhere
else.
- Convince your swimming friends those at BHS or going to be in 7th
or 8th grade to come out and join the fun.

- All swimmers are an important part of our team. Earning a Varsity letter
is an accomplishment earned through hard work, exceptional performance,
and commitment to the team. Swimmers should set personal goals as well
as working towards team goals. In order to earn a Varsity letter, a
swimmer must:
- Score a season average of at least 3 competition points per dual meet
- OR
- Win an individual Region Meet Championship
- OR
- Finish in the top 20 at the State Championship Meet
- OR
- Be a member of a top 3 relay team at the State Championship Meet
- AND
- Earn at least 172 Bengal points in the regular season, or 194 for the
state swimmers. Adjustments in the requirement will be made for 2 sport
athletes, year round swimmers and swimmers with a job if you see me to
discuss it and establish guidelines.
- Adhere to team rules and policies
- Finish in good standing with the team
- Participate in all the meets
- EXCEPTIONS
- 1. A senior who has never lettered may earn a letter if they have
participated in the swim team all four years. The athlete must have
attended practices and all dual and region meets. The athlete must have
a positive attitude, display proper sportsmanship and earn the requisite
number of Bengal points.
- 2. A head coach may award a letter to an athlete who has demonstrated
superior dedication and service to the team. The head coach may also
deny a letter to an athlete who has demonstrated behavior unbecoming of
a varsity athlete.
