Standard 2.17            Grading and Reporting

Do the grading, recording and reporting systems used by the teacher incorporate learning of important knowledge, skills and attitudes?  Is reporting done in a timely manner that keeps parents adequately informed of their child’s progress?  Is the grading system known and understood by students?  Are records accurate and complete?

I issue student progress reports on a weekly basis.  Students have access to their grades periodically (whenever they ask) to self-monitor, adjust, and get make-up work.  Grades are thorough, detailed, specific, and comprehensive.

A formal grade is sent home every 3 weeks in an interim report and every 9 weeks in a report card.

Grades are determined on the following basis as outlined in the syllabus:

Work Ethic:                            34%

Competencies:                        33%

Homework/Classwork:        33%
