Does the teacher engage in relevant and important professional growth activities?
I attend the Virtual Enterprise training sessions and meetings. I am currently taking EDUC 600 through Coastal Carolina as well. These “outlets” give me an opportunity to remain up-to-date on the latest issues in regards to business education, technology, communication, and education in general.
I regularly read articles from a variety of magazines that helps to keep me abreast of the latest information in the business education field.
I have written a “mini” thesis titled “How Can I Use the Business Community to Better Prepare My Students for Employment.” This process involved extensive research on employability skills as well as interviewing local business leaders.
I have also written a Literacy Memoir as part of my first Literacy class through the South Carolina Reading Initiative. I am currently enrolled in my second Literacy class through this effort as well.
I have also taken EDUC 728 offered by the University of South Carolina as well as Differentiated Instruction offered through Coastal Carolina University through our district.
I also attend all PEP and Future Visions House meetings as well as all faculty and departmental meetings. I head a PLT on senior project as well as serve as the Career Prep department head.
