Congratulations to senior Nicole Rountree and sophomore Kelly Owens for being named All-State by the S.C. High School Sports Report! Congratulations to senior Nicole Rountree who was selected to play in the Coaches Association of Women's Sports (CAWS) North/South All-Star games June 13-14 at USC-Aiken. Nicole will play for the 3A/2A North team which will play Friday, June 13 at 6 p.m. She will play again either at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14! Congratulations to sophomore Kelly Owens who was selected as an All-State performer by CAWS. Kelly will be honored at the all-star game at USC-Aken on Saturday, June 14! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of the season banquet will be Tuesday, May 27 at Columbia Country Club. Kelly Owens and Paige Owczarczak read to students at Round Top Elementary Wednesday, Nov. 14. Congratulations to Coach Ware for being selected as the 3A North All-Star Coach for the 2008 North/South All-Star game. The games will be played Friday and Saturday June 13-14 at USC-Aiken with doubleheaders each day. Bengals recognized for team GPA The Blythewood Bengals were honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for its team GPA for the 2006-07 school year, finishing with the 21st best weighted GPA in the country. Additionally, seven of the 12 letterwinners were named Academic All-America Scholar Athletes for the same grading period, for having at least a 3.5 GPA.. Those students are: Jordan Banks, Paige Hartfield, Brantley Minor, Paige Owczarczak, Kelly Owens, Hillary Stewart, and Lindsey Trombley. Blythewood High was the highest ranked school from South Carolina on the list. Congratulations to the team on a great award. |
