This program is designed for highly motivated students who seek a challenging academic environment. Students are accepted into the Honors Forum based on teacher recommendations, test scores, and their academic record. Students will be evaluated each year for continuation in the program. Students are encouraged to design a program of study that meets their personal and college goals. An Honors Forum diploma will be awarded to students in one of three categories at the end of their senior year based on the following requirements:
Cum Laude
Completion of:
4 Honors courses
5 AP courses
1 Honors Adv. Seminar
Minimum 3.25 GPA

Magna Cum Laude
Completion of:
4 Honors Courses
6 AP Courses
1 Honors Adv. Seminar
Minimum 3.5 GPA
|
Summa Cum Laude
Completion of:
4 Honors Courses
7 AP Courses
1 Honors Adv. Sem.
Senior Project
Minimum 3.75 GPA

Maintaining Honors Forum Status
All students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 throughout their career at BHS and they must earn a minimum of a "C" average in each course (whether it be an honors course or not) throughout their academic career at BHS.
Probation
If a student fails to maintain a 3.25 GPA or earns lower than a "C" in any course during any semester, he or she will be placed on academic probation for the remainder of his or her career at BHS.
Removal
A second instance of a drop in GPA, earning lower than a "C", or any combination of the two, will result in removal from the program.
*Students can also be removed for disciplinary or any conduct deemed imappropriate for an Honors Forum student. |
